Short info
I am a literary scholar mainly trained in Norwegian and Scandinavian literature. My main interests lie in mass produced, oral, musical, or otherwise less studied literature. I also have a background in Norwegian traditional music, and consider myself to be a lay folklorist.
Research
In the AI STORIES project I research the narratives appearing in chatbot dialogues; erotic narratives generated with chatbots, and how Norwegian folktales generated by Large Language Models reveal patterns in AI generated text. I also research chapbooks ('folkebøker'), Norwegian cheap print ballads ('skillingsviser'), and other forms of historical popular literature.
Outreach
I give regular talks and write for the general public about AI from a humanities, communication and narrative perspective; stories and narrative; historical popular literature and songs and song lyrics.
