Short info
I am a PhD researcher in Marine Microbiology group at the University of Bergen, studying marine viruses and their role in ocean ecosystems. My research combines bioinformatics, genomics, and microbial ecology to better understand the hidden interactions that shape life in the oceans.
Research
I am fascinated by the hidden microbial world and enjoy using computational approaches to uncover how microbial communities influence ecosystems on a global scale.
Before starting my PhD, I completed an MSc in Bioinformatics at Uppsala University. My previous research focused on microbial communities in the Central Arctic Ocean, where I investigated the potential for alternative carbon fixation pathways in bacteria across distinct Arctic water masses. Through my work, I developed a strong interest in environmental genomics and the ways microorganisms drive global biogeochemical processes.
My current work deals with asking difficult questions to very tiny viruses hoping they would help me figure them out :)
