Research
Before joining Bergen, I was an Assistant Professor (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) at the University of Hamburg and a PostDoc at the University of Cambridge (Analysis Fellowship). I did my PhD and MPhil at the University of Cambridge, after obtaining a BA from Humboldt-Universität Berlin.
My philosophical interests lie at the intersection of metaphysics with the philosophy of logic and language. At the moment I'm particularly interested in "Higher-Order Metaphyiscs", the project of using tools from higher-order logic to formulate metaphysical theories about, e.g., properties, propositions, modality, ground and time. I have additional interests in the history of analytic philosophy and the philosophy of artificial intelligence.
I've recently enjoyed research visits to Oxford and Geneva, where I am an external collaborator on the project "Higher-Order Metaphysics: Foundations, Motivations and Hyperintensional Developments" hosted by the research centre eidos. I'm an area editor at Ergo.
I'm delighted to have been awarded UiB's Prize for Young Researchers in the Humanities in 2025.
