Objectives and Content
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course the student should have the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:
Knowledge
The student is able to:
- Explain key terminology in her/his field to a general academic audience
Skills
The student is able to:
- Present a project proposal and research findings in a clear and structured manner
- Apply pedagogical principles and adjust presentation style, voice, and verbal and body language to the audience to create interest and increase comprehension and credibility
General competence
The student is able to:
- communicate research findings to a broader audience
- critically review and constructively give feedback on presentations of research

Teaching and learning methods
The master students should give two presentations during their study period and it is compulsory to attend another 12 of the seminars.
The seminars are usually held once a week and each presentation should last about 15 minutes.
Seminar:
2-4 students present at each seminar
(no. of seminars depend on number of students)

Forms of Assessment
Two oral presentations and peer review on the presentations of two other students.
I tools can be used in accordance with the guidelines of the Faculty of Medicine (see Use of artificial intelligence (AI) at the Faculty of Medicine | UiB) for the following purposes:
A- General activities (e.g. generation of search strings) as long as AI content is not copied directly into the text
B- “Editing” and “improvement” of your work
C- Support for visual representations that is not part of your own results
All use of AI must be declared in a separate statement with an appropriate sub-heading explaining how and how much AI has been used and which tools that were used. Also, all compulsory work must adhere strictly to UiB’s statements on Academic Integrity and Cheating (https://www.uib.no/en/sa/165062/academic-integrity-and-cheating). Non-adherence will be judged as cheating.
