Course description
Objectives and Content
The aim of the thesis is for students to gain experience of scholarly work by planning, carrying out and presenting (in writing and orally) a scientific project.
The students should document that they can think and work in a scientific manner.
The thesis should be on a nutrition-related topic/problem. It can be either an empirical study or a literature review.
It is possible to start during the 5th semester. The thesis must be submitted at the end of the 6th semester. The programme committee will ensure that there is a list of relevant topics. All scientists involved in teaching the bachelor programme can submit a topic and can serve as supervisors. The thesis can be written in Norwegian or English.
The students must present their thesis to each other in a seminar (mandatory participation).
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, the students are expected to be able to:
- orient oneself in nutrition related scientific literature
- use references in a scholarly way
- carry out a limited scientific project under supervision
- evaluate and present scientific results (in writing and orally)
